Research Interests
Research is focused mainly on the anionic polymerization of lactams : earlier 2-pyrrolidone, later anionic polymerization of ε-caprolactam and its copolymerization with ε-caprolactone and ω-laurolactam (activity and modification of initiation systems, (co)polymerization kinetics, non-activated polymerization, CO2 as activator etc.) Most recently we are dealing with:
- preparation of block copolymers poly(ε-caprolactam)-block-(elastomer)- materials with increased impact strength for industrial applications
- preparation of polyesteramides by simultaneous anionic (co)polymerization of lactams with lactones, biodegradable materials for preparation of micro- and nanofibres
- mechanistic aspects of lactams copolymerization, especially ε-caprolactam and ω-laurolactam using different anionic initiators
- preparation of polyamide and copolyamide nanocomposites either by exfoliated adsorption or by polymerization procedure
- industrial applications of lactams anionic polymerization mainly for mold casting
- mechanism of preparation and modification of aliphatic polyesters and copolyesters
